Red Door Painted

We learned when we last met that it was really cold when I took Nathan's family pictures. Well, that wasn't the only thing.

By the railroad tracks on commercial street there is an old train station that is now used for a city planning building or something like that. On the east side of the building, there is an old red double door. This door was perfect for pictures--a great background in the shade.
In fact, check this one out from the summer:

Not to bad eh? I really like the colors and texture of the door. But don't worry about going to look for this door, because they painted over it with an ugly cream color! Both Kristy and I couldn't believe our eyes when we pulled up to the old train station and saw an ugly cream door instead of the red door that we drove over there in the first place! It's a sad, sad day when cities are painting over beautiful antique doors. I don't even think it will help if I write my congressman. However, I did just become facebook friends with the newly appointed mayor for Morgan City...hmm...

DLRX 3301

Yeah, I don't know what those numbers and letters mean on that train either.

This picture was taken while I was taking pictures for Nate's family Christmas card. From the picture, it looks like a nice warm day--but it wasn't! I think we just about froze out there while we were taking pictures. The wind was blowing and it was starting to snow. The perfect recipe for a cold time.

Left His Smile on the Kitchen Counter

I took some pictures the other day of my sister and her family and here is Tyler not smiling at all. In fact, that is how he was the entire time. No worries though, I can snap with the best of them when taking pictures of not-so-happy little ones! He's not the only one. I remember years ago when the number of nieces and nephews was less than a quarter of the number I have now, and little Seth was all plugged up down south and was, needless to say, not very happy. Hey, I don't blame him, I don't think that I would be very happy with life if that was me either!

Create

Kind of weird not having a picture with post. In fact, I think this is the first time I've done it. Jeni showed me this video months ago, but I found it today while looking up stuff for my lesson today on lds.org. I was always more mathematics and science orientated, but I'm coming to find out that I want to create more and more. I guess that is where photography comes into play. I hope you enjoy.
