Corona Arch

This is a picture of Corona Arch down in Moab.  It's outside Arches National Park, but still quite the arch to visit.  I love the colors and warmth of this photograph, and believe me, it was warm there.

Make do, or do without.  If you haven't looked at photography equipment lately, don't worry it's still expensive.  I haven't bought any new photography items in over two years.  Really, I'm trying to master the items that I have.  It's a long road and really don't think I'll get there anytime soon.  I love taking pictures, though, whether it's people or things.  I wish I was better and could do it more.  Maybe if I did it more I would be better.  Hmm, interesting how that works.

This is Brielle.  She's a cutie.  What else did you expect, though?

The Wave

I'm beginning to realize that there are many places in Utah that I haven't been, let alone known that they existed.  For example, near Kanab and by the Arizona border there is a beautiful hike that ends at this area about the size of a football field with these wavy formations.  In fact it's called The Wave.  It's honestly one of the prettiest places I've been to.  It's well worth getting a permit and hiking it.  I want to go back.
To put it in perspective, here is my roommate walking up part of the formation.  I wish I had a wider angle lens to take some pictures there.

I think I don't know much about southern Utah because my dad growing up was more into the mountains than the rocks.  He never really liked the desert landscape.  I guess I'm the same way.  I love the pines and mountains.  However, I love southern Utah and the beautiful landscape that it offers.  We traveled back up North on the Cottonwood Canyon Road and then on scenic highway 12.  That road offers breath-taking views and an opportunity to see some of the state that I didn't know existed.  All in all, I loved the trip and am excited to see more of it in the near future.
